Default Any noticeable riding difference after removing TourPak?

2006 Ultra Classic

I removed my TourPak, but have only ridden it once this winter since doing so. I never rode long enough to detect any difference. I just wondered what others with more riding time this way feel about handling after the removal.

Thank you.

07 EGC.. Way better. Especially if compared to a tourpack full of crap.

08 Ultra, massive difference.

bout the same difference between solo and having a light passenger. it really lowers the center of gravity and feels more balanced and nimble.

My wife almost never rides so that thing got ditched PDQ

I knew there was a recent thread on this subject. I thought you got a lot of good feedback in that thread. No?

My apologies. I forgot I asked this question. Yet, perhaps since then others might have had the experience.

Only in your head. Removing it is more about looks. Put a detachable on my 07 and after a short time it was never off the bike learned my lesson . Now if you put 50 pounds of lead in it you may notice a difference.

When I took mine off I thought it felt about the same as a full tank of gas. That isn't light.

I only can detect a difference heaving it up off the kickstand and possibly a little in slow speed turns. Funny thing for me is this, when we put a bag with 28lbs on top of the tour park, I can really feel that added weight in the above conditions. It’s the height of the weight,

Like others have said, it noticeably lowers the center of gravity. We took the tour pak off of my wife’s 06 Ultra when we repainted and customized it. I sold it on eBay. She loves it without the tour pak.

A little lighter in the parking lot... With stuff in the pack and how high it sits I do feel a difference but it’s minimal.

Top Speed and MPG’s are a thing... The pack is a mini parachute. Bike has trouble hitting 110 mph with it but can bury the needle (120) with out it. That and I gain about 30 miles a tank without it.

The convience of having it always out weights the speed and mpg’s so it’s on most of the time. If I want to see what she’s got I just pull the shield and Pak in less than a minute and go get smoked by a Ninja.
