Default Tour pak question

I've got a tour pak on the way.Never had one before but have searched installation tips. One thing I cannot find is if there is anything like a rubber mat or maybe some kind of washer that goes between the bottom of the tour pak & the top of the two up rack that you bolt to.Cant imagine you bolt a painted surface to a metal rack.

I bought a rack from a guy that was going to put it on a tri-glide then decided not to. There were several washers that came with it including an indented plastic washer that sits against the paint. https://serviceinfo.harley-davidson....0?locale=en_US

You bolt it right to the rack. You're not looking at the underside of the TP, and if you put it on the rack correctly its not moving anyway so its not going to rub. The washers that come with the TP go between the nut and the rack not between the rack and the TP.

Thanks but I'm talking about the bottom of the tour pak itself, not the luggage rack on top.

I know what you're talking about. It's what I posted. Look at the instruction sheet for the tour pak. There is a diagram that illustrates where everything goes.

I don't see a gasket, insulator or any type of "protective" device .

I think you are looking for the 5 concave spacers that fit on the rails that you mount the tour pak on. Maybe someone can find the part number.

I know exactly what he's asking. He is asking if something goes between the rack that mounts the tour pak to the bike and tour pak it's self. The answer is NO...there is nothing in-between the bottom of the tour pak and the rack that mounts it to the bike.

Not sure what you guys aren't understand about what I'm saying.
