Default elctra glide vs cheiftan

I was in Daytona at the Indian dealership, and was offered a test ride of the new cheiftan , I have been seeing a lot of them on the trip and decided to see what it was like. we did not have to ride with a group just jump on and go for a ride. Initially sitting on it, it fit well, I liked the bars , seat was comfortable . I rode the 116 version and my buddy rode the 111. Throttle was very touchy and 1st gear is very low. I started to get use to that about half way around the square route we rode. my wife doesn't like how hard the Electra glide hits bumps, I thought the Cheiftan would ride smoother. I was wrong first good bump I hit, it jarred my back. The Indian reminds me of a metric cruiser.. I know the indian was not dialed in for my riding preferences. but I will keep my 2000 Electra glide over a 2019 Indian.

Every time I think I want something newer, I look at all of the electronics on the newer bikes, and confirm that my 2000 ElectraGlide is just fine.

Invest in an after market shock setup. (Search forum tons of posts) You and your wife will be happy. And it's cheaper than a new bike. Stock suspension is terrible.

I’ll keep my Road Glide also. One real draw back with Indian is their deal ships are like hens teeth, nowhere to be found.

Go ahead and buy an Indian. Then Polaris will go Victory on them and you'll be left holding the bag.

I have not cared for the look of the Indian and I think you made the right decision. Your 2000 is a good looking bike and in my opinion, a sharper bike.

I do like the styling of "some" of the In-juns.... But I'll keep my 2013 Road King. As far as I'm concerned, it's the last of the "good ones". And she's going no where soon.

I really like the Indians but the fairing change this year has me second guessing them, I just don’t like the styling, too similar to an HD batwing. (except for the classics).

One day, I may change brands, as I like the full fender look, especially now with the weird counter balancer noise coming from the M8’s

Still love my Road Glide, so that won’t happen anytime soon.

I rode a 2018 indian Chieftain, and a 19 street glide. The ride of the 107, the quality, craftsmanship and the aesthetics Of the bike landed me on a Harley. 2 weeks and 400 miles later and I know I made the right decision.
