Default Tour Pack, 2008 and down

ok... I have, what I'm sure is, a dumb question.

I have a line on a tour pack for a good price. It's from a 2005 and I have a 2008. Besides paint, is there a difference in these tour packs? I know they should fit, but I don't want to waste the guys time, if it's inferior for any reason.

I appreciate your time, and I tried to search but I don't really to know what to search to get an answer.

The 2005 Tour Pack will fit, actually the Tour Packs from 1997 to 2008 are the same fit.

I'll try and help. Get this HD catalog. https://www.harley-davidson.com/cont...talog-2019.pdf

Turn to page 355 and you will find that the tour paks are common 97-2013. A few pages later you will find that the luggage rack is common 97-08. You should be good to go with that tour pak.

I believe the paks were still fiberglass up to 06 as opposed to ABS. My 04 had a fiberglass pak.

I have a TP from an 03 on my 09. The only thing I had to change was the detachable bracket due to the wider rear fender on my bike. Yours will bolt right up.

The detachable hardware is the same for '97 through '08 if that is want you are looking at. The Tour Pack itself was virtually identical in shape up until 2014. The older fiberglass Tour Packs were a bit more sturdy than the newer ABS units but the '05 will work fine on your '08. I'm not 100% sure when they went from fiberglass to ABS for the Tour packs and Saddlebags but if it is gray inside it's fiberglass and if it is black it is ABS

So the older versions (fiberglass) are sturdier? That's my concern.
