Default Is A/C upgrade and tune worth it?

Not planning to do anything that will void my warranty on my new '19 Street Glide Special so not considering any thing aftermarket for now.

I have already replaced the stock slip ons with Magnaflows. From what I understand these will not have any effect on my warranty.

I'm contemplating installing the Sreamin' Eagle High-flow Air Cleaner Kit - Wedge (p/n 29400246A) and tuning with the Screamin' Eagle Pro-Street Tuner (p/n 41000008C). For these two items, from Surdyke it will run me about $425 (since I have the tuner cable already).

The 114 runs great and more powerful then I really need but would like some opinions please. Is this, sort of a part ial Stage I upgrade, worth it and will I see any noticable performance benefits.

I did the same thing on my '18 Heritage M8-107 and it did make a difference, but I do not know enough about the touring model M8-114.

Thanks

IMHO...unless you get a dyno tune with a non EPA compliant tuner, you won’t get anything out of a stage 1 on an M8.

Just like the mufflers, you don't have to get a Harley air cleaner for your Stage I to keep your warranty intact, the tuner and headpipes are the keys. Fuel Moto makes a great air cleaner that breathes better yet hides under the stock cover.

Technically, by installing the Magnaflows, you have potentially affected your warranty.

From the owner's manual:

Damage caused by installation or use of non-Harley-Davidson components, even those installed by an authorized Harley-Davidson dealership, that cause a Harley-Davidson part to fail. Examples include, but are not limited to performance-enhancing powertrain components or software, exhaust systems, non-approved tires, lowering kits, handlebars, add-ons connected to the factory electrical system, and so on.
I'm not saying you will be denied warranty repairs on your bike. Chances are you won't, but I just wanted you to be aware of what the MoCo warranty specifically states, rather than what someone on the forums states.

Mufflers are the first to go most of the time. Make the Bike comfortable for you and if you have a passenger first.
With a M-8 and a 114 engine just ride the Bike the way it is, enjoy the ride, life is to short to worry about $hit.

Air and Exhaust are no brainers.... EVO, Twin, or M8. Let your motor breath! It’s just a very expensive air pump anyway.

Having the tuner set up for stage one I see no real need to slap it on the dyno. There are a few in the M8 section that have done it and gotten positive results the gains are not what they were with the Twin Cam's. I am running V&H Eliminators and a K&N. The bike runs fine with the download. The SE tuner will Auto-Tune to a degree if you are inclined to mess with it.

If you like the looks of the A/C upgrade go for it. Other wise waste of time and money.

I've found that the M8 platform has plenty of power now, no need to waste money on a a stage 1. From now on any new bike I buy will get slip ons and that's all. Added benefit of keeping your warranty with this approach.

I'm just repeating what I heard/read but I believe the new intakes on the M8's can already flow more volume of air then the engines requires. Unless you are changing it for looks, I'd just put the stock replacement K&N air filter in it for a little less restriction and then look at mods when the warranty runs out. The street tuner is still going to keep you in EPA guidelines so the improvement will be minimal.
