...... they've got one'a those Lithium batteries on the service counter @ Pikes Peak Harley
..... sitting right next to the stock battery as a comparison

I bought a regular battery about a month ago if I had a do-over I would buy the lithium I did more research on it after I bought a AGM battery.

Keep in mind if you use a battery tender you will need a proper tender for the lithium. I found that they have tenders that will charge both types of batteries.

Don't lithium ion batteries explode when exposed to excessive heat? I'm not sure if I want to sit on one that is right next to the rear exhaust on a hot summer day while stuck in traffic.

Part of the appeal to said battery is that it doesn't need to be on a tender - not for 12 months... no need for daily, weekly, or winter charging
It's also 3.34 lbs vs 21 lbs, 480 CCAs vs 405, and double the life.

$246.84 on Surdyke. Pretty sure I'll be picking on up once my AGM goes...which it is.

They are lithium iron, not ion, it's more stable than the older chemistries. Their is a risk as with anything, regular lead acid batteries can and do explode too.

You’ll need to use a charger monthly if you have any kind of parasitic draw.

With a typical AGM sure, but in this case they are stating that it doesn't. Only need to charge once after winter storage (given you've disconnected it) and not in between uses during the riding season.

Will it actually do that? Not sure, but it would be amazing.
