Fat Cat Bracket Fixable?

What you all think? Can I take to a muffler shop and weld that sucker back on?

I doubt a "muffler shop" is going to have a TIG welder, most of them use MIG, personally I'd fab up a new 90 degree bracket, grind the old one off, and have someone weld a new one on.

By the time you "Vee" that out and weld it in, I'd be worried about localized hardening and vibration, causing a repeat failure.

Bracket

Any metal shop or local welding service can fix that like new.

I could weld that up in the amount of time it took you to post the question.

Question, did you mount that tab on top or on the bottom of the tranny bracket?

fit like a glove and underneath (the right way). Question is what caused it to snap. The new 124 maybe?
