Default Let's Talk Comfort Upgrades

Hey everyone, my wife and I made a ride from Denver down to Austin, TX for MotoGP a couple weeks back and have come to the realization we need some more comfort mods. I do have a La Pera Maverick daddy long legs seat on the bike and my wife has the HD backrest but other than that it's stock from a seating perspective. I'm thinking highway pegs for me and some sort of modified foot positioning for her but I'm not sure what might be the best. Her main issue was that being short she has to straddle me and that proved uncomfortable over multiple hours. I've seen risers for her foot pegs or swapping them over to boards. I've also seen the extended foot peg things that add a peg at a higher level to the existing layout to give some variety. I'm referring to my 2018 Road King Special, so what have you all done to increase the comfort of your ride for distance? Links or part numbers are greatly appreciated as well. Thanks everyone!

I do remember the same thing happening to me and my wife. Sundowner seat and her saying ( her words ) this dental floss is not going to work. If you ride with anything in your back pocket , take it out.

10" Wild One bars, 10" Freedom Shield, Mustang super tour, highway pegs. I am 6'4" and 240 with a 36" inseam. All of the mods must be based on your size on the bike. A different seat would maybe mean a different shield size, bars etc.

My 5'4" wife likes these. She uses them at times to change leg positions and feel more comfortable. A friend has them and his wife recommended them. They are pricey new. I found a used set on ebay. Given you have a 2018, new may be best.

We can't see your wife, however your local friendly dealer can. They should have a 'fit centre', or whatever it is called these days, where a member of staff can advise your wife on getting her riding position just right (as well as yours, if necessary!). This may include recommending different seat and footrests, so that her weight is properly supported while riding. Apes aren't going to help her get comfortable at all!

We've already mentioned suspension, but another contributor to comfort is tyres, so consider a change of brand, when the time comes.
