Default Harbor Freight wheel chock.

Bought me one of them Harbor Freight wheel chocks today with a coupon. Question is. Is it okay to leave bike in it for Periods if time? I have it on the largest setting and it looks to pinch the sidewalls just a hair. Will that hurt it leaving it like that? I’ve attached a pic. Please comment

I think it has to grip the tire like that to keep it stable. I used one in an enclosed trailer for years with no I'll effects. I am not sure about it long term.

Not gonna hurt a thing. I have one on my lift and my bike sat in it all winter.

So did I. The tire went flat over the winter, the bike leaned over damaging the fender and rotor (different brand chock). If you're leaving it for a long period of time put a couple straps on it just in case the tire loses air, it's cheap insurance.

And while you are at it adjust the stop back a couple of holes, you will have a hard time getting the bike out of there if you don't. Make it so the wheel rocks forward but the rocker part does not go all the way down. It will still hold the bike just fine but make it much easier to roll back off the chock. And put a couple of straps on there to hold it as stated before.

I have it on the furthest back hole. The rocker is about 1/4 inch from touching the ground when the bike is in. It’s still kind of a pain to get out but I’ll get use to it. I don’t plan on leaving long term I ride a lot.

That is not what I meant. Put the stop at the 3rd or 4th hole so the rocker is just over the center, the front of the rocker will be about 3 inches up, much easier to get out. Just try it out buy starting with the 4th hole back and see if you can ride it up and have it latch in, if it does not latch in tight enough go with the 3rd hole back.

I Probably did not explain it correctly the first time.

Had my Electra Glide parked that way on my lift and there was never any problem with the tire. Always strap it even though it is latched in, as was stated if the tire loses air it can tip.

Oic. That way the rocker is barely over center when it’s latched in. And I’m not having to overcome the whole thing.

I can't help too much but I just bought one this weekend. I have the front vertical piece at the second hole from last and I have had a hell of a time getting it out. It seems to hold well, but, I was wondering if the last hole would be better. Like it so far except for the wrestling match to get it out. Shouldn't cause any permanent damage to tire. It may cause a small indent that will work its way out.

i moved mine to 4th hole. Little easier to get out. One good push instead of 2 or 3. I recommend having the bike off when removing because tryin to pull back and not rev the engine is tricky lol. Also have hand over brake lever so if you get halfway you can grab the brake. And then one more umph and it’s out. I like mine. I bolted it to floor. And when I eventually get lift it will go on there.
