Default 2003 Road King has 103 kit. 1.8 kw starter

Found a 1.8kw starter that says it’s 1.25” longer. Has anyone installed a 1.8 kw starter on a 2003 road king. Looks like I will need to mod the oil fill to install it. Thanks

I put a bigger one my 2001. No effect on oil lines for that year. You might have to grid down the bracket for the Y pipe, unless using 2-1.

Many have reported that thicker wires allow the stock starter to work better. Do you have plans to use thicker wires to support the 1.8Kw starter?

I doubt the increased guage makes a difference on such a short run, and such short duration. I suspect this is a case of a little knowledge is dangerous.

Would have to bore and stroke. Most bored to 95, but 100: motors are not new.
