Default Handlebar Swap

Anyone in the Clarksville TN area can recommend a shop to do a handle bar swap or would like to help install them on an 09 cvo road glide. Dealer quoted me 10 hours @ $95 per hours. Thanks

Damn... I wish I lived near by. I would help you out for a six pack and some good conversation

Two guys could knock it out in 3-4 hours including internal wires.

I've been toying with the same thing. After reading a ton of threads on the topic, I started looking at some Youtube videos on how to swap the bars out and it doesn't look too bad. I don't know how handy you are or if money is not an option and your time is more valuable doing something else, but it looks like something I might tackle over the winter? It just got to be riding weather and I'm not about to miss out on opportunities to ride.

It's really not that bad of a job. If I can do it, pretty much anyone can.
I bought the Wild Ones mini apes, put them on my 05 RK Custom in an afternoon.
Worst part was extending the wires, and that only took an hour or so.
But, I did keep my old brake lines and clutch cable, so that made it a bit easier.
If you can turn a wrench and do some basic soldering, I'd recommend doing it yourself.
Total cost was $225 including the bars, and a one piece top clamp.

i was hesitant to swap to apes on my bike until i put a crowbar in my wallet and coughed up the $30 for a video on how to do it step by step. I was pissed in the beginning and refused to pay it but glad i did. Theres alot of crap videos out there that "kinda" shows you how to do it from thier bikes point of view and i have yet to see one that really takes you through every step. Anyways if your serious about saving yourself $1000 or more download the video here:

https://gumroad.com/l/softailhandlebars

theres no reason you cant do it yourself with the help of that video...especially if you dont have to do any soldering which it sounds like you dont if you have a more recent bike. i think its 09 and above is plug and play wiring harness extensions.

I might do it myself. Is there a way to make the cable internal images of having them external?

Make sure you have the service manual and electric diagnostic manual for your year bike so that when something goes south, you can check it.

Try Surdyke Harley, they've have the best prices I've seen. If you hunt the internet you can find a downloadable PDF for your bike, but be careful on some of those sites, they're scammers.

Try repairmanualsoncd.com or Carl Salter PDF manuals.

Also, what's easy for one is not always the same for another, so my advice is to take your time and be methodical. I've done many

Ride safe!
