If you’re talking about the seals, you’re better off just getting the seal kit, pn# 44315-00A or a comparable aftermarket seal kit than chancing properly sizing o-rings. The kit from HD is less than $15.

THAT ^

For as cheap as HD sells some wear items/replacement parts it's easier to get/use OEM. I've flat given up on James fork seals, OEM Showa or nothing for me.

On an 18 yr old bike you'll probably want to change out the pistons as well.

Ride safe!

Default caliper rebuild question

Question about rebuilding caliper on 13 fat bob, do you use just brake fluid to lube the pistons or silicone grease? Looked through threads but couldn't find and existing threads.
Thanks

Don't put that stuff inside the calipers, that's not what it's for. Simply smear a little brake fluid to lube internal parts.

Caliper lube is great for any external caliper surfaces. Pad-caliper and pad-pin surfaces.

I just replaced the pistons and o rings on the rear brakes on my 85 model fl. I just lubed them with the dot 5 brake fluid that is used in the 85 models.
