Default 17 Road Glide Ultra

So my father purchased a used 2017 Road Glide Ultra from a HD dealer. It's my understanding that security was standard on this model for this year. What has me confused is the dealer never gave him key fobs and there also is no key at all.

Am I mistaken that security was factory standard for this year/model? Am I mistaken on what exactly security is? Where would the module be located on the bike to see if it has it?

Thanks in advance.

Should have 2 fob's and 2 barrel keys with it!

How do you expect him to use the lock on the ignition, tour box or bags?

Interesting. He was given two barrel keys and when I questioned where the key fobs were located the salesman told us there was none. The bike starts right up with no key at all. I thought maybe the fobs were zip tied some place on the bike but we cannot find anything.

Is it possible the security was shut off?

It can be deleted by removing the TSSM (security module), but I can't think of a (good) reason to do so.

I'm not too impressed by a H-D dealer who would sell a late-model bike like that. The (standard) security is a good thing and rather important, IMO.

I am with ya but part of the blame goes to the buyer. Purchase a newish vehicle and not to expect fobs? Not ragging ya OP but this is hindsight. Make the dealer make things right. Bought my 17 RGS new but my last bike had fobs as well and it was an 08.

Is there a zippered pouch in the tour pak? Check in there.

After you shut it off do the tail lights blink twice kinda fast? If so it has security on it and the fobs must be someplace on the bike.

But you are ragging on me and your post helps me none. It's my dad's first Harley and thde dealer said there was none. I'd expect that he would know more about the bike then me.

So I searched the bike up and down. There are no fobs anywhere. No the security system does not act like it's on at all. No lights flash ever. I did remove the seat and the side panel cover all the electrical and I definitely found it has both the pieces to the security. Based on other posts I've read since posting this, either the security has been disabled or was never enabled when original owner purchased it.

I will be heading to the dealer with my father to get this settled.
