TBW Limp Mode....

Pulled these codes this morning after I went into limp mode 5 times last night on the way home from work.

P0120, P0123, P0220, P0222

Cleaned and greased the connector behind the AC this morning and it took it for a spin... Seems to have done the trick but I think I’m going to change out pins and connectors anyway just to be safe.

This is the 2nd time I’ve dealt with this but I got different codes this time.

I’m reading 08’s and 09’s are notorious for this issue.

Not a Throttle By Wire Fan at all!

I like the clean look of the TBW but when it acts up it's a pain. I had a problem but don't remember the codes after changing bars. there's a connector inside the bars that seems to give problems.

the throttle twist sensor connects to a wire that connects inside the fairing/headlight

I don't remember the codes either, but you cleaned the pins and problem went away, good chance you found the problem.

You said this is the second time … did you change the pins the first time?

Cleaning is only a temporary fix.

Just a suggestion, when you replace the pins add about an inch to the wires. Beside the fretting problem those wires are way short and can get stretched and break.

Also, put a big shrink tube over the connector. HD has done this since the ‘14s. I’ve got a roll of shrink tubing that fits. Its stuff, but it works. PM me if you want a chunk...for $free.
