Default Belt pully ratio.

05 electra glide classic. I been researching on about tranny pully and sprockets. And I was looking for more torque. Some how I came across about different ratios on pulleys. And how many teeth on the sprockets.Part I'm confused is what's a good ratio to have on 05 classic to get torque. I have stock belt drive. Has anyone else done this to there bike and is it worth it

changing sprockets is not going to give you more torque, but if you want to lower your gearing you need either a smaller front(drive) sprocket, or a larger rear(driven) sprocket, one tooth on the front is about equal to maybe 4or 5 on the rear, you can find out the ratio by dividing the number of teeth so say you have 15 front and 50 rear, the ratio is 3.33 move to say a 12 front and it's a lower ratio of 4.166 you want a lower ration, how much is up to you.

On my 2008 FLHTC, I went one tooth smaller in front and 2 teeth larger in the rear and used the stock belt. Huge difference. You could go even further I think, but I still want to lay down some miles without it reving real high all day.
