I don't think you can go wrong with either choice. I just recently bought my 2019 SG and liked the versatility of the bike and knowing I too like to tweak and customize all the add-ons and bling. I added a tourpak and the tallboy seat so a seat replacement was happening regardless. I think I saved about $1,500 in the end..

 

Road glide has an ultra version with tour pack if you are interested in the frame mounted fairing.
