Default 2000 flhtpi cam plate

Ok...so here goes.. 2000 flhtpi 68000 miles
Had some noise near the cam chest side
Turns out the outer cam bearings junk
Gonna do the cam plate upgrade...what about the lifters? Do they wear out? How would i know??..they look fine...i have adjustable pushrods already..where would the best place to get all the parts from? Cost wise I mean...also if y'all can chime in on a parts list for this job..so I don't miss something
Cam plate
Inner cam bearings
Inner cam bearings tool
Lifters??
Lifter cover gaskets
Cam cover gasket
O rings for pushed tubes
O rings for oils pump
Cam lock tool

Are there ready made kits that are available for this job?
Thanks for the help

Or should I just replace the bearings and be done with it ...and save some moolah??

What do you mean by cam plate upgrade, hydraulic? If so, you’ll need new cams too. How many miles on the bike?

What kind of pushrods do you Have? S and s? You'll need to get orings from them. Screamingeagle? Get HD orings and gaskets, I've had good luck with the stock gaskets. Cam bearings koyo are very popular here and I've used them as well. 68k on your lifters? I'd replace them for sure...cheap insurance. You can find s and s standard lifters for 140 or less if you look around. You don't mention cam shoes but a set of cyco shoes will be the cheapest way out and you should be good for 30k before you have to take a look at them. cant remember you whole post but I hope I covered it. Oh yeah...theres no " kit" that I've ever seen you have to piece it together. The parts guy at my dealer will put together a " kit" if you ask for it...i don't always use stock parts though.

Because when go to hydraulic the end of your cam that goes in the cam plate is now the wrong size...sp you need what's called conversion cams. Just replace your cam shoes with the cyco ones like I said in the other post...no need to spend hundreds on new cams then hundreds more on a tuner and tune...replace and ride...cheap and easy

You would need conversion cams. Fueling makes a kit https://www.feulingparts.com/product...p?product=7087 less the cams, sold separately. An 00 should have runout in spec for gear cams if you desire. Can use your stock plate with gear cams. Is it carb or EFI? How much is your budget?

I put cyco shoes in at about 35000 miles
There is still life left on the shoes...but I had a funny sound on that side of the bike...thats why I opened it up...glad I did because the cam plate bearings were shot...that must have been the noise..i also had a wierd vibration...hopefully that was it too
If I went with an upgraded cam plate with the hydraulic tensioner...are the bearings already pressed into the cam plate?...also will my existing cams be able to be used?
