Changed my oils and o ring?

Hello I changed my oils in my rg and used new viton o rings and I ran my bike for a bit and inspected bolts and I can see the orange o ring coming through a little around the edges of both my engine and primary drain plugs
the bolts where torqued to about 16-18 lb
Am I just being paranoid by wanting to replace them and do another change or could that be somewhat normal to see the oring peeling through the edge of bolt
thank you

Sounds like you mashed the o-ring by overtightening.

Ya it def squashing out a little bit all around edge but I only went to 16lb

Not normal but if it's not leaking, so what. Just keep an eye on it and levels.

In my opinion drain plugs is something that you do not need to torque you learn to watch and feel them seat.

Ya I never used to torque but I ended up getting one for varies things So figured may as well use it

Sounds like the oring was in the wrong position or is the wrong size. The plug seats against the pan while also squeezing the o ring. The oring isn't what stops it.

Your torquing against the threads in the case not the oring, your oring is probably the wrong size. Always use a torque wrench without it it's very easy to over torque and damage threads.

Yep, o ring is probably too big. Snug fit, lightly lubed usually does the trick.
I am still using the original o ring.
Could insert a joke here...nah...

If you put the O-rings on dry they can get fudged up. It's good to put a light coat of oil on them and then tighten down
