Thank you for posting this !!! I bought the ESP this past October for the slightly used 2016 RGU I acquired in 2017. Bought the ESP on their 12 month payment plan so this month's payment and two more will pay it off. Haven't needed to try and use the ESP so far but of course with all the headlines I've been wondering and your post does make me feel somewhat better. Thanks again for posting.

Hope everyone had a great holiday break!
Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Protection (Extended Service Plans & Liability Insurance) has been my focus since 2006. Helping riders find the proper mechanical coverage with an Extended Service Plan is truly rewarding.
The contracts sold through Boardtracker H-D and Discount ESP are valid and backed by First Extended/Assurant and Virginia Surety. My decision to leave the company I helped create, was based on my desire to offer the best coverage options available.
There is room for improvement on First Extended's Claims Process and Coverage Options. (Aftermarket Components, Deductibles, ect)
We can now provide:
· $0 Deductibles at any H-D Dealership or Independent Repair Facility
· 24 / 7 Claims Department – Processed by the administrator NOT the selling dealer
· Wear & Tear Coverage
· Coverage for Aftermarket Components
· Longer Terms = 6 Additional Years AFTER Factory Warranty Expires
We have partnered with two (2) Extended Service Plan companies to help riders find the coverage that fits them correctly. Our new site is: www.MotorcycleAgent.com. We look forward to working with you to protect your investment.

One of the issues with First Extended is the requirement to go to the selling dealership, if the breakdown is within 40 miles. Being that Boardtracker H-D is closed, this presents a problem. I'm sure if this is explained to First Extended, the mileage limit will be removed for a claim.
The new companies I work with don't have this limit. You can bring your motorcycle to ANY H-D Dealership for repairs. If the dealership says "They don't work with any other plan than H-D's CNA ESP." You can complete the claims authorization yourself. This is the same process for after hours claims.

Well I am sitting on the fence trying to decide what to do. The factory warranty on our 2017 CVO Limited ends in October. The bike has been 100% trouble free so far and looks to be a keeper.
I have 18k miles on it and plan to put new tires on front and back around 20k. The dealer did the first four services with a maintenance agreement and I'm going to start doing my services at home again as with past bikes.
I went to the local dealership week before last to inquire about the cost of the ESP and "The Guy" was off. My options as I see it are the HD dealer supported plan, an independent plan like above and simply save the money and play the odds. I have to say it is a tough call.
Any comments or suggestions from you guys?

I am one of the unlucky ones that have had Issues with my bike, I am so happy i had this ESP as they covered both Issues without question or hassle, so far they have paid out close to 3K in repairs, I paid $1300 for this plan paid for its self twice over, Jim's new plan seems even better then the one I have and IMO it's a np brainer when comparing to what HD sells these plans for. Also It seems HD will void your warranty at every opportunity, They don't have that option with this plan.

yes, if the factory warranty is void, so is the esp. of course, not the entire warranty, if your powertrain warranty is void, then you can still get your radio serviced, etc... but seeing as how the power train is the largest part of your bike, you may as well cash it in and get your money back (pro rated).
