Abs fault c1086
Hey guys I didn't see a area for abs related faults so wasn't sure where to ask this question but anyways, I was riding my 17 flhxs today's and my abs light came active. Shut the bike off powered down to see if the fault would go inactive it did for about a mile and it came back on. Got home checked the fault and it's a c1086 rear master offset sensor error code. I've googled and used the search tab on here and no luck finding any info regarding this code. I am a diesel mechanic and troubleshoot on a daily basis I just need a direction to go I'm not familiar with all sensor locations or how the systems are set up on these bikes. I'm assuming by the description it would have to do with the rear brake master cylinder pressure and the would have to do with how the braking system equalize pressure between front and rear above set speed on these bike but that's only a guess. Any info on this issue or sensor locations and troubleshooting would be much appreciated.

I can tell you what it says in the 2014 Touring Elec Diag Manual.
ABS ECU DTC Test
1. Clear DTCs
2. Turn IGN ON
3. Check DTCs
4. Do any of the following DTCs reset? C1086 is one of 25 DTCs listed
5. a. Yes Replace EHCU (Electro Hydraulic Control Unit)
b. No System working properly

Well I called harley and talked to them they told me they dont hear this code come up on this new of a bike. They told me to test the brake fluid moisture content that it could be boiling off if that doesn't help all the sensors are integrated into the abs module and more that likely it will need to be replaced. So I Ordered a tester and it tested excessive moisture. So today I got new resivoir gaskets and flushed the system of all the fluid with new brake fluid using a air powered vaccum bleeder. Just rode the bike home from the in laws and the code came back. When I spoke to Harley they said they would try to assist me in getting it covered under warranty since mine expired 4 months ago. He said they will tell them the dealer to deny it but then he gave me the customer care number and told me to plead my case they may help me out he said sometimes they do sometimes they dont it's a case by case basis. I will probably drop it off to them in the next couple of days so they can tell me it needs a module.

Dealer may be able to bleed it & get all moisture out, if it hasn't caused any corrosion in the modules.
While using a vacum source can let you change out fluid without introducing air into system, it doesn't remove all of the old brake fluid. Without being hooked up to the computer from the dealer so all of the valves can be operated during bleeding, there's no way to get all of the fluid & moisture removed.
Hopefully they can bleed it & save it for you, or, get it replaced under warranty if not.
What's likely gonna determine if warranty is going to cover it, will be if you have followed the service schedule & had it changed as scheduled. If so, warranty should cover it.
