stretched bags

I really like the look of stretched bags (ie, nasty baggers or baddad style) but i was wondering bc they sit so low will the drag on turns and get damaged before the floorboards would? I would think that they would and riding around with a stretch bagger would be a different style of riding than say a stock bagger....more cautious and slower more upright turns.

Yes,,.

I have never had them drag, and this is riding 2 up. Can it happen, I'm sure it can, but I have not had it happen, and I love leaning the bike into corners ;)

That was one of my main concerns after switching from Dyna to Touring. I love to dip into my turns but so far I have yet to scrape anything.

Skid plates can be installed fairly easily.

I don't have a lot of miles on my 19 SGS but haven't scraped yet. On my 03 I have the floorboards ground down to almost knife blades on back outside corners. I need to try harder to see whats going to scrape first, boards or bags I guess.

I have 4 1/2" stretched bags and although I live in the twisties I have not scraped.

I have 5 inch stretched bags and skid plates and I repair and repaint about every three years. I also drag hear shields, slip ons, boards and wear out the entire front tire, not just the center tread.

But that's just how I ride. Bike is stock height.

Harley premium shocks in rear progressive monotubes in the front.

HD Special and CVOs use a tapered stretch maxing at 3.5”. The more you stretch the greater the risk of scraping. I like 3.5” inch stretch of the HD still shows a bit of the cans especially with the tapered bag plus if you got nice cans u should let them show a bit.

How about my floor boards? You think stretched bags would be OK for me?
