Default Road Glide SPKR switch

Quick question on the Road Glide... What is the SPKR switch for? Does it just turn the speakers on and off?

Thanks!

Um...the speaker switch switches the speaker.

on
off
on
off

Sorta like that. Not really sure why...the radio has a mute position after all. Perhaps it's intended to function like the under the fairing temperature guage...as a placeholder awaiting some real use.

Gotcha. Thanks! I was trying to figure out why there would be a need to have the radio on and the speakers off.

It's actually a 3 way swith on the '07 models. Top toggle is "off", center position turns the speaers on, but also powers the intercom so you can hear the radio thru it, then the last position is the speaker "on" switch, which if I'm not mistaken, toggles it off the intercom where as only the speakers on the fairing are on. Anyone with a intercom on their RG wanna chime in and correct me? I don't know for sure. I always leave mine on because of the mute on the radio too.

On a roadglide the switch is inoperable unless equipped with optional equipment such as the cb or intercom

Off / forward: in the forward position the speakers are off. Audio is played in the headsets only. During cb reception the other audio source is muted.
Center: the radio player or aux is played over the speakers while the cb is over the headsets only
On / Rearward: the speakers are on. the radio and cb is played through the speakers both rider and rear. Audio is muted when cb is used.
