I did legends on my rgs after lots of research. Calling and talking with any manufacture will not help they will push their product same with aftermarket shops they will push what they sell. Best to go with shocks from a company who has been doing suspension for awhile like ohlins, legend or fox. Talk with dealers, forums, and bikers in general. Watch YouTube reviews, read reviews etc etc. good luck
Legend, Pro Action, or Ohlins should get you where you want to be. Also the HD 13" hand adjustables are very serviceable as well. Some members have had success with Bitubo too. I'd stay away from the Progressives. Some people like them but a had them in a few different configurations and they flat out rode like a truck.
For the front monotubes are ok but I think the same results can be had with using a heavier fork oil. I switched out my monotubes for Legend Axeo's. They perform much better. But are usually twice the price. Just remember a lot of this stuff is subjective.
