I’m looking at going with a RG special blacked out.
I just traded an '18 Street Glide (107) for a '20 Road Glide Special (114). My friend still rides his '17 Street Glide Special (107). After riding my Road Glide for 5 miles he said the Road Glide is significantly better.

While I really liked my Street Glide, I love my Road Glide. The bike feels significantly more roomy. Front end feels both more stable and planted at highway speeds, but also more nimble and maneuverable than the SG. Looks are subjective, but the shark nose fairing has a very imposing and distinct look about it.

The 114 engine is the cherry on top. It feels like it has more power everywhere and pulls much harder than my Stage 1 107 did especially at higher RPM.

I would also recommend the RDRS if you're getting a Special, the hill hold control is super handy, traction control is a nice thing to have especially if you ride in colder or wet weather.

I feel the same way. When I swapped bikes with my friend and hopped back on a Street Glide, I couldn't believe how cramped it felt, and how different the handling was..

I had an 02 batwing, then got a 13 shark, now have a 2020 ultra limited batwing. It boils down to : when time to buy, one of them will stand out to you

I have owned and ridden every model of Harley, had an Dyna, FXR, Softail and touring. I tried to test ride a Street Glide and never got it out of the driveway. That fairing felt like it was going to hit me in the chest and seemed so close I felt claustrophobic. I liked the wide open feeling you get with the Road Glide. I like having space out in front of me and the new 114 RGS's are great bikes the front fairing is a little larger than the older models and is way easier to remove if your working on it. Parked next to my wife"s Softail Standard it looks like a land yacht and it rides like one also. Get on the freeway and set the cruise control and I have easily done 1000 mile days with no problem. Would never own another touring bike but a Road Glide...Just my .02

actually, the rushmore fairing is a little smaller than the 13 and down fairing. yes, it is significantly easier to remove. r and r takes all of about 5 minutes now. and you don't have to mess with the headlights while doing it.

i'm a short little phooker and i have never cared for the cramped feeling of the batwing fairing. the road glide just gives you a more roomy feeling while still offering the benefits of a fairing. yes, you will get more rain in the face vs a batwing. and don't listen to the bs about not being able to reach the radio. even if you couldn't reach it, there is nothing that you couldn't do using the thumb switches anyway.

been on a road glide since 2010. on my 3rd one now.

Switched from a 15 Limited to a 18 RGS. Doubt very seriously after 31k, I would like the bat fairing again.

I know that my 2012 RGS fit thru my gate at the house a lot easier than the new does. I had to cut the gate posts down to allow for more clearance on the bars, even with the new ones and I never had to do that with my 12. Maybe because I have been on my Springer all summer it seems larger. I know compared to my CVO Springer Softail and the wife's Softail Standard the RGS looks huge.

I traded my 2012 Ultra Limted with 48K miles on it for a 2020 RGL. There is not one thing I miss about the Ultra. Except that it was paid for.

There are some advantages I like on the RG compared to the Batwing Fairing, seeing the front wheel from the rider seat and turning the bars without a struggle while the bike still.
