I've heard one of the touring has the thumb switch only and all touring bikes have the same computer module, so a road king can be converted with the dealership computer. Any helpful info you can put on this subject?
I did have them convert the passing lamps to hi or lo. They did that during an oil change for free.
Out a on a limb here but are you talking about running ditch lights aka passing light at the same time as High beams? Against the law in many states but some do it anyway and add a switch to turn them on and off.
I believe the settings can be adjusted by your dealer using the digital tech. Selecting the mode takes the fork mounted switch out of the equation, and the off/run/start switch then controls the power on/off mode. This can be done because the fob is in the near proximity or the operator enters their code.
The CVO bike work this way. The switch on the forks is only to lock them, and no longer controls power. Some folks remove the lock altogether. Not necessarily an issue for the OPs Road King.
but, why? even if it could be done, you'd still have that big ol ignition switch there.
my son in law bought a 2018 heritage, it operates that way, but does not have the ignition switch. just flip the run switch to run and everything comes to life.
