Default 96ci exhaust

hello to all...this is my first post....i just purchased a street glide and i am stummped on exhaust. I am looking for a exhaust that sounds good but not to over powering, i live in a townhouse so i dont want to **** off the neighbors too much but i know that any exhaust system is going to be louder. I plan on having the dealership do a stage 1 kit so i need to find some pipes, what are some of you running and if you would change your exhaust what setup would you go with?

thanks in advance

HD SE Slip-Ons or V&H Basic...

You should really get out to a HD event like a Bike Nite - Rally - Biker Bar even the Dealer on a Sat morning and sit and listen for the sound YOU'RE looking for... When ya hear it.... Ask the rider questions!! Too many people buy the wrong exhaust the first time.... Exhaust is really a "ME THING"

depends on what you want from the bike and how much money you want to spend. You could just put slip ons with a download or start spending more money on true duel exhaustand a power commander to control it. The other thing to do is a 2 into 1 exhaust. More low end torque. Still requires a ecu moder (i.e. SERT, PCIII, or whatever you decide). If I were you I would read ALOT on here and start from there.

A good web site that I would read from front to back is www.nightrider.com

I am no expert but I do trust this mans thoughts on moding a HD motor but like everything else use it with a grain of salt.

I will say this web site helped me in cam exaust and gearing on my fxr.

Supertrap's have the best combination of power and low dB rating, I'd agree go to a bike night ar listen to as many as you can. The March/April edition of Hot Bike Baggers has a 9 slip-on comaprison .. it's posted here.

Seek out someone with Rush mufflers. I have the 2" baffles and feel they're just the perfect amount (and quality!) of sound.

Been looking around and wonderin' the same thing for my 07 FLHT Standard . Ran several different systems on my 2000 Fatboy and my '02 EGlide Classic , but this time just want to install an aftermarket exhaust and download once and be done with it . Leaning toward a V/H Basics slipons now, then maybe their true dual kit later with whatever works .......PC !!!, FuelPak, SERT or ? All my other HD's were carb. so this computer stuff / injection on my bike is new for me [sm=WTFsgign.gif]

I have just joined the forum and also have some questions concerning exhaust.I have listened to a number of bikes with Rinehart True Dual exhaust and really liked the sound. I asked about that when I bought my 2007 Road Kind Classic this spring and was advised to wait due to the dealership not having the correct maps for the computer yet to put those pipes on the bike. Anyone have any advice on doing a stage 1 upgrade to the new engine and putting Rinehart true dual exhaust on the new Road King? Is a stage 1 upgrade needed to put the Rinehart true duals on?

I have the Rush w/ 1.75" and True Dual Headpipes and don't like them much - louder and tinny sounding...might go with the Vance and Hines Oval Slip ons
