The difference is freedom. You will not travel as freely. You movements will be restricted. Once enough are forced on the grid
you will have an allotment and it will only allow limited travel. The vehicles prices will lock many out of the market.
All part of the plan.. We don,t make the power to charge them by magic . that is what many forget. Wind mills do not work proven fact. Most here are seldom even in use. They won't run them so they don't have to fix them..

Couldn't travel far with cars at first.
I though hybrids would be the future. Can gas up when needed

OK, so the move away from fossil fuels is to restrict travel? I think that is quite a stretch.
We dont make electricity by magic? Is that how oil is pumped out of the ground? Wingardium leviosa! It took a long time for the gas engine to become as efficient and powerful as it is today. Refinement takes time. And my point is that we dont have the option of gas in the long term. It will run out, maybe not in my lifetime but a child born today will probably see it.
And most of the mandates are not requiring electric, they are restricting manufacturing of gasoline engines. Alternative fuels are still on the table but right now electric looks like the way things are going.
So when HD goes electric my already 900 lb Ultra Limited might weigh hundreds of pounds more for the battery!! Might need a special "jiffy stand motor" just to get if upright off the stand.....LOL

The reasoning goes like this: technology "down the road" will have batteries the size of a quarter".
In the meantime, starve mother phuckers.
On the fact that electric cars are now doing 350+ miles on a charge.
Battery development is moving at a fast pace.
you can stretch over 200 miles from a Zero already.
But the big question, how long does it take to recharge to get that kind of range?
The local dealer a couple years ago had 2 of the Live Wires in stock, a couple years later they were still there. Don't know if they ever sold but are gone now and nothing to replace them.

My V-Twin air cooled motorcycle is already a fuel efficient petroleum gas saving, traffic congestion reducing mode of transport. I save gas to the tune of almost 50mpg every time I don't take my car or truck somewhere.
Many people forget that...
