Default 2016 Road Glide Purchase

Thinking about changing from a 2013 Ultra Limited to a 2016 Road Glide. Concerns are the RG has no ABS or any other bennies. I can add most anything, but not ABS. Is ABS a must have nowadays?

If you know how to properly use you brakes and can react properly then isa ythe y are not necessary, a good option to have but not necessary.

If you are prone to panic attacks and have zero brake control skills then ABS is great to have. I don’t care for ABS on anything

I've ridden motorcycles for 51 years, owned 19 bikes. The last 32 years have been big touring bikes. The only one with ABS has been the current one, a 2014 Ultra Limited. And when a herd of elk surprisingly ran out on the highway in front of me in Oregon I was very glad to have ABS. Caveat emptor.

IMHO.... ABS is a good thing to have... but I don't consider it a requirement.

I've been riding Harleys since 1977... Only my two latest baggers ('12 &'16) have had ABS... I've only had the ABS activate when braking on uneven pavement...

I curently have three HD bikes. One with ABS and two without ABS... I don't feel unsafe when riding my two without ABS....

If I found a bike I loved, with everything I wanted at a good price, but no ABS, it wouldn't deter me from buying it...
