Hidden Antenna

Can I get some feedback on the hidden antennas? I'm seeing where some people hate them and some don't.

I'd like to clean up the rear of the Street Glide but not at the expense of reception.

TIA

Here's a review of your options. Good stuff. http://www.gadgetjq.com/antenna.htm

Personally, I'd like to see a review of some of the newer electronic antennas like the Dakota Digital and others. I find it hard to believe that a passive antenna hidden under fiberglass and resin can provide as good reception as a whip exposed to the elements.

Right now I'm running one of the J&M antennas, but I'm tempted to try a hidden one as well.

I installed a Hidden Antenna that i bought off eBay for 25.00 and it works just as good as the Original Antenna, do a search on eBay for Hidden Antenna the Antenna Install is as Easy as Removing the Fairing and Finding a Power source and you are good to go.

My feelings exactly. That is why I am surprised so many people mount their xm/sirius antennas under the fairing and say they get good reception. My reception sucks sometimes with it out in the open.

I don't have any problems picking up radio stations with my hidden antenna! (Not sure of the brand, got it at Audio Express). It's a different style though, it has the antenna(s) stick out about 6 inches on either side of the base.

I don't see how fiberglass and resin will be that much more of an inhibitor than the interior of a house! How many people actually link their home stereos to an antenna outside the house?

On the other hand, I rarely listen to the radio anyways (and I don't have satellite). No point when you have MP3 capabable CD's!!! :D

I use a powered antenna under the fairing...no recption problems and in fact it cleans up some marginal stations.

A friend of mine just put on the Dakota Digital and he is not very happy with it.... He would probably sell it cheap.
