Stock Air Filters

RE: Stock Air Filters
I believe there is a Screamin Eagle filter that is made for the stock cover. Also K&N makes an upgraded filter. (at least I think they used to). You should be able to use the round SE or Big Sucker I (Arlen Ness) and keep the stock front of the cover (you'd lose that backing on the stocker, cuz they would have a new backing in place.
I know for the TC88 that was true, not 100% that holds true for the 96 inchers, but don't see why that would be that drastically different.

RE: Stock Air Filters
If you're trying to complete a Stgae 1 then you'll need to change the complete air system - not just the filter... Just installing a K&N on to the stock system is not the same...
You can go with:
Ness Big Sucker (more bang for the $$$)
SE Performancxe Air Kit
K&N Air Kit

So CAl Pappy
I already have the k&n but recently removed it along with the pipes and pcIII for warranty work. The slipons and pcIII are simple but the ac is a pain.I'm running the stock ac now with the supertrapps and pcIIIand really don't notice a difference. I had the bike on a dyno to get the correct mapwith the K&N ac on. It's probably a tad rich now. I may take it over and have it put on the dyno again to compare numbers. I'll bet there is not much difference running the stock ac.
