I still have time to decide, but I will need to make that decision soon. Part of me, wants to keep things HD and just buy once, cry once and have something that I know will give me peace of mind. Then there is Amazon, which is 300 bucks for everything. Most have good experiences with it. Should I care if I use it only couple times per year? But then again, having solid, HD one would be better, but damn.. the cost...ughh
Really can't, and won't try, to sway you one way of the other. The mounting is HD hardware, but I had that already for the sissy bar and a rack. The tourpack is the same ABS plastic the HD one is. The locks are crap and if I really wanted to, I could get the HD locks. I didn't plan on using it much and don't, but the storage is nice to have. I can see why some keep it on there all the time and even add lights.

If it were a full time attachment, the HD price wouldn't be as hard to swallow. If I swap out to the HD locks at some point, the cost saving are going to diminish. It was still less than half the cost of the HD parts, with genuine HD parts that matter. So... I'm not disappointed with the way I went and would likely do it again if I had to.

When I put the chopped on, I had the intentions of it being a part time bag, ended up rarely ever coming off and that was one of the factors that drove me towards not only going with HD and a king. Because this bag has pretty much become a permanent fixture, I am starting to look for another Dyna for a local bar hopper.

This is part of the reason of me considering HD pack. I don’t know if I leave it on or not, but what if I do? If that’s the case, I rather go with HD pack.

The good thing is, I have some HD gift cards so the pain would be lot less

A little less expensive than $2K, with veterans discount, I was just over $1,600 painted and delivered. But, that was 4-5 years ago. Had I to do it over, I’d probably just go with an OEM King.

Man to bad you don’t live closer, my dealer does an MVP program that you can save up to 20% off that is when I usually buy all my stuff.
