Question Roadglide handlebar change

I'm getting ready to change out my stock handlebars for some wideglide bars. Any tips, suggestions or precautions ??

I went with the heritage softtail bars on mine.................I think they are the only ones you can change to without haveing to change out all the brake lines and other stuff......

handle bars are as personal as bike color and seat configuration... I have and ridden with both "Wild1's" 513 (same as wideglide) and 517's... I really liked the 513 but I am a short rider and my corbin would have to be reworked to have my body fit the 513's So, I went with the 517's and love them...
"Note" = My bike was born a FLTHTCI and in the summer of 06, I changed the front end to the Road Glide... while the bike was a FLHTCI I used the 575's. I then had my Corbin seat made - So, after the bike was changed to a Road Glide - I had to make the bars fit the bike and Me.... Like I said, I liked the look and feel of the 513's but I could Not sit back in my Corbin... Did a Lot of research on the 517's - some people loved them - others did not like the grip angle.. I bought a set and it did take just a little time to get used to the 'feel'. Over the past 1.5 years - I love them... NO problem at all...

So, back to your question - If you are going to go to all the trouble of changing bars... Take a look at the Chubbies at Wild'1.... I have done several of these changes - PM me and I will give you my home number and answer all your questions...

With Wild1 - you will need to 'Learn' the trick to putting the wires inside the bars and you will need to change the brake line... If you can not do the work yourself - the dealer will rape you on labor charges... If I can do it, anyone can... just takes patients and you Must get an Service manual....

If you do not care about the wires or the chubbie look... just get a set of Wide Glide bars and do a quick swap... should be very easy... again,, get the service manual...
