Default 2007 electra glide charging issue

So my bike tells me it is overcharging. Voltmeter reads15vdc. Followed the troubleshooting on the forums. Everything seemed normal, changed regulator just in case. Checked voltage at battery and it reads 14.08. Could this be a bad gauge?

Voltmeter is the only gauge that can be adjusted, read with a decent digital meter and adjust the screw on the side to match. Pain to get at, but at least once adjusted you're in the ballpark.

Welcome to forum.
Sometimes what seems very simple can actually be more complex and it really requires information in order to obtain a useful answer.
What bike?
What year?
What changes from factory stock?
How many miles?
History of ownership.
You state "Voltmeter reads15vdc." was that at battery? was that at rest? while cranking? at high idle?
You state "Everything seemed normal"...what does that mean to you?
You state "changed regulator just in case". Why did you change an untested or unconfirmed part? What regulator brand did you use to replace?
The replacement of unconfirmed parts can sometimes complicate diagnostics.
You state "Checked voltage at battery and it reads 14.08. Could this be a bad gauge?" Tested with what?

Use a voltmeter on the battery,if you are not, should be around 14.4 reved up.

Do you have bulbs burning out? Black inside? I am told can be sign of high voltage.

Sounds ok to me. Maybe was hig and you fixed it. Either way volt regs are weak links, and you replaced one 16 years old

Thank you everyone, I appreciate all the help! I didn't know the voltage gauge was adjustable. The previous owner left me a couple problems to fix. All in a days work! Everybody be safe!
