Just installed a new front bottom motor mount on my 04 Road King. Had vibration at around 45 miles per hour. After the installation of the motor mount I now notice a completely different vibration while going through 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Seems as though it either stops or lets up after going into 4th gear. I installed the motor mount flat side up as instructed. Anyone have any ideas asto why I now have a different and worst vibration. Dealer stated that it would go away as this is a new type motor mount, but can't aways believe what they say.
Any chance when you replaced the mount something shifted and you are slightly out of alignment now? Is anything (ie. exhaust, clutch cable pinched, etc) rubbing the frame or floorboards? Sounds like it could be an elusive one to track down. Tires in good shape?
Good luck, sorry I couldn't be more definitive with my advice.
BTW - If your screen name means what I think it does, I've got family that are bro's of yours. I'm heading to Ft Bragg next weekend to hang out with them at Wino's beach.
I had the same thing, dealer said I should replace frt mount with a new one made in China, well I did and the bike shook so bad you could not believe it so I put the old one back in and all is well. Returned the new one to dealer and they never heard of such a thing.

One of the first things I'd look for is the mount being fastened with tension one way or the other against its associated engine-to-frame link. Probably the best way to ensure that's not the case would be to loosen the center bolt in the mount, orient the bike vertically and fire it up. Then re-tighten the bolt. Maybe with the engine still running, or not, would be better...
It should be mentioned that the bottom-protruding part of the mount should be centered in its frame crossmember hole as much as possible.
