2018 Street Glide
Thoughts on this year and model? Any problems, read some articles that implied there may have been clutch problems. Any information will be greatly appreciated, TIA.

Just need to upgrade the oil pump to the latest version, if it has not been done already.
The clutch slave issue would have already been addressed, but can be improved with one of the aftermarket slaves. Buy it, and enjoy it! |
Also check to see if the primary case has been vented yet to keep the primary from sucking all the tranny fluid out of the tranny. The newer touring models come with the vent from the factory, but some of the earlier ones did not.

Good point, MotoJ. I was remiss with the completion of my post above.
Starting with the '19 models of late May 2019, they did add the primary vent. |

I owned an '18 Street Glide, it was a good bike. There was a safety recall for that year for the clutch, check to see that this has been done if you're interested in buying. |
I have a bone-stock '18 Road Glide (107') that had the clutch recall done as well as the primary case vent; it has been absolutely trouble free for 18,000 miles.
I rode it from the east coast to Sturgis and back at 90 (I mean "with traffic") for HOURS and she sings like a sewing machine. Only mods are slip-ons and I vented the breathers externally. |
I just bought a 2018 tri glide 3 months ago it was bone stock with 3000 miles only thing I have done was added Cobra 909 slip ones. I have put about a 1000 miles on it and have had no trouble. I was thinking about upgrading oil pump this winter. For those of you that have 2018 have most of them had the oil pump updated or maybe I should say how many still have the stock oil pump

No issues with my 18. I did install the fatter clutch rod simply for piece-of-mind before my 2020 Sturgis trip. I've never had sumping or clutch issues either. This year when I did cam work, I had the oil pump changed to a newer one, just because I was in there.. The original pump had 30K and never gave me problems.
