I recently purchased a 2014 CVO ultra Limited and the rubber on the heated grips are worn pretty good to the point that they are sticky. I had the same issue on my 2006 Heritage and just recently change them out and never realized what a difference it's makes. I guess you just gradually get used to it. Anyway rather then spending more money right now I was thinking that a cheaper way might be to wrap them in something. What about some sort of shrink wrap? I've seen online where you can get leather grip covers but would it affect the heating part of it with the leather being thick? I've never used either before hence the reason for perhaps these stupid questions.
Is replacing the grips a plug and play or is it more like starting from scratch and having to run the new grip wires through the bars. Can they be soldered in instead?
