reroute clutch cable for WO575's

For those that have rerouted the clutch cable for the 575 bagger bars as opposed to buying the longer one, how did you reroute it? Thanks.

Cut the lowest tie-wrap holding the cable to the frame downtube.
Open up the Fairing and pull out cable.
Route cable right behind the Air Temp sensor, this time not going the long way around the lower triple tree, go in front of it. (Hard to explain, you'll see)
Route the cable right back out the fairing hole straight to the clutch lever as normal.

This worked for me for over a year. Tight...but works.
Some like to take the cable completely out of the fairing... not me.
BTW...a new black cable 4" over is only like 60 bucks.

Take a pic....I don't get it:( Right now the cable comes from the right and crosses over on the outside of the tubes. Do you put it under and on the left, or go inside and behind the tubes? If you go inside, doesn't that make it hard to get at to adjust the cable?

When I did PFD161's, we took it out of the fairing completely, and just routed it just like on a Road King. It doesn't look as clean, but it works and there is no binding or pulling.

If there is a way to more directly route it inside the fairing as lp was saying, then that would look better.

Or, pick up the +3" cable and go that route and keep it looking the same.

This winter will get the 3"+ but for now......
From left controls to left side of frame.
Behind the crash bar (tie wrap)
Front of left down tube (tie wrap)
Across to right down tube (stock placement)
Actually feels better than stock because the cable takes a nice lazy curve to the stock frame location at right down tube.

So you went outside the fairing also?

Yes , I could not find a way (without stress) to re-route anywhere inside the fairing.
The placement does cover the highly useful ambient temperature gauge.
Looks goofy but it works great.

Kinda like this , but my cable had a bit more gentle sweep to it.

I didn't tie strap to the bar though.
I run the 300505 Khrome werks.

The 300505 is what I had on the 04 and that's what I'm putting on the 08. Thanks. I can actually fit it where the bar enters the lower fairing cap where the stock control wires are run. That shouldn't look too bad.
