SE slipons 2007 Road King Classic

Installed SE slip ons today on my 07 Road King. I had been running it on the stock pipes with a K&N air filter with no issues. On my first run out tonight the bike ran fine but when I stopped at a light I noticed a burning plastic like smell coming from the bike. Got home and found that the smell came mostly from the Right side pipe and that pipe seemed to be hotter than the left pipe. Before installing pipes I asked the dealer if a remap or retune would be needed and they said it wouldn't be neccessary. Is it possible that a remap is needed or has anyone else out there experienced this issue.

thanks

M

Think you are just smelling "newness"...ride it some more. Right pipe will always be hotter..that's where most of the exhaust comes out..unless you get "true duals"...

Installed SE slip-ons on my RKC about 3K miles ago without remapping and have had no issues.

Thx. DanB. Will give it some burn in time and see if it goes away...

Is it just a K&N filter element within the stock airbox or is it the (a) K&N airbox replacement?

It is just the filter element.....

Okay. One more question, you said the smell was from the right side pipe. Do I take it you mean muffler instead?

As you were sitting on bike most of the exhaust on my RKC comes out the left side. That muffler seam to have more of residue at rear of muffler. I'm wondering could the right have some kind of restriction?
The right side muffler always shows slight rust at rear. The left is clear of rust.
