GMR's 107 Kit

I just dropped of my 08 Ultra for my winter build. It's getting GMR's 107" kit, R&R billet cam plate kit, 615/525 cams, roller rockers, compression releases, D&D Fat Cat, Riverio Clutch...I think that's mostly it.

You will be more than happy with it I'm sure. Congratulations.

You should also tell them to add a seatbelt. ;)

You shouldbe quite pleased with that build.

Should be nice, but I bet you do not end up with the R&R camplate and a Fatcat.

I tried and the pipe will not work with a FatCat. I jacked with it for 6 months and tried several iterations of the coverplate. I finally had to choose between the camplate and the pipe... I chose the pipe.

No biggie... that will save ya $700. ;)

Man...That sucks. When I ordered it, Steve asked me what pipe I was going to run and I told him the Fat Cat, so he said he would have to order the slim cover from R&R so that it will work..So Phil are you saying that it won't work even with the slim cover from R&R? BTW, thanks to your advice, I'm on the waiting list for the Pro-Tuner from HQ. I have the SERT and will pick up the Pro-Tuner once it's available. Does anyone know where to start for a base map for the SERT for this build so I can break in the engine, etc before I get the Pro-Tuner?

That should be a fun build to ride. You going with R&R heads or are they working on yours?

You are welcome!

Here are a couple pics of mine, with the new "slim" coverplate. As you can see, the rear headpipe hits the coverplate and holds out out away from the tranny bracket. Initially, they were saying "it's just the heatshield & all you have to do is notch it", but as you can see... it's more than just the heat shield.

I suppose it's possible that the 08's are different, but I don't think that's the case ~ I know the only difference in the pipe is the tranny bracket. Whatever ya do, don't let anyone convince you to "crease" the pipe for clearence!

Well, what a bummer. Do you think I'll have any challenges with run out for not using the cam plate? I know that visually speaking it defintely looks alot stronger and Steve made a good selling point that it is something needed for this build. What does HQ use, just the stock plate? I think that my build has the potential to be 125+
