If you haven't yet, get IDS!
I got the IDS installed on my 2007 Screamin Eagle Electra Glide today at Carolina Harley Davidson in Gastonia, NC. They installed it free with the Elbow Grease program and gave me 10% off the part because I'm a HOG member. I can tell you there is a noticeable difference in the bike. No more clatter under 2000 rpm and acceleration is much smoother. I rode from Charlotte (about a 30 minute ride) to have it installed without the radio on so I would have a baseline to compare. The ride back was completely different. If you haven't had it done, you owe it to yourself to do it now with the Elbow Grease program in place. I was a little skeptical, but I had a smile on my face the entire ride back to Charlotte. The folks at Carolina Harley Davidson are first rate. Theytreat you with respect and let you know they appreciate your business. Seems to be a rarity at some dealerships these days.

Uh....not ta give ya a hard time, but you aren't SUPPOSED to run that engine under 2k rpm - period! Just doin' THAT will stop most of the noise.......

IDS is almost as good as falling in love with a nymphomaniac and finding out her daddy owns a package store.

ORIGINAL: oldhippie IDS is almost as good as falling in love with a nymphomaniac and finding out her daddy owns a package store. I'm happy too. Maybe not that happy though. I rarely bog my engine down below 2K. On the other hand, the IDS seems to make it much smoother in the lower RPM ranges. It also made 6th gear much more usable at around 65/70. My bike was smooth before the IDS and it's even smoother now. This must make me a member of the IDS club . . . join if you like. Steve L. |

THE I.D.S. IS GREAT UP GRADE THAT WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR. LOOKS LIKE HARLEY IS GOING TO GET AWAY WITH THIS ISSUE. MAN I WISH I COULD FORM A COMPANY A SELL AN INFERIOR PRUDUCT FOR MORE MONEY THEN CHARGE THE CUSTOMER MORE TO MAKE IT RUN RIGHT!!!!!!!

Installed IDS a few weeks ago. Had no real issues, but I did it anyway. Shifts smoother, but I don't notice any other changes. Never had the clatter unless I accidently lugged the engine before IDS.
