Default Front rotor replacement

Has anyone replaced the front rotors with the polished chrome rotors? If so do you need any special tools? Or should this be one for the dealer?

You can do it, as long as you have the manual to back you up and the tools necessary along with a lift. You will have to use a small tourch like a benzomatic to heat up the rotor bolts as they have red loctite on them and if not heated, they sometimes strip the head trying to remove them, also reapply thr red loctite when you reassemble the rotors. It's not a difficult job, just a little time is required but a good way to get to know your bike. Just follow the manual and use a torque wrench for the fastners. Double check everything as you do it and you'll be fine.

I have taken front and rear rotors off my last bike (Night Train). I had buffed and painted my rotors with a high temp black paint, which turned out awesome.

Hardest part was getting those darn torx bolts loose - had to vist a buddy's garage and use air wrench for the back rotor. But its nothing complex, good project to undertake if you have time and interest. As mentioned earlier, a bike lift is definately needed.

Don't forget to toss the old ugly bolts and get the nice chome rotor bolts!
