Interesting comments. I wonder why it would be so bad considering it is such and old technology and boosting a CB signal is not all that hard. I meanthe CBwas never made to have full blown converstations on in the first place.
My choice is to get the CB vs. buying an alternative. I have been doing some research and have not found any of the alternatives worth the $$ over the CB at this point. Wireless can be slow and just as choppy as a CB. I also hate having to recharge the wireless do hickies...I always forget and I know it....
My riding buddy and I use the cb all the time. The range isn't great but it sure is nice to be able to visit back and forth. To check the SWR, would you have to get at the back of the radio?
