AreSuper Trap SE's the same thing as Screaming Eagle 2 piece Street Performance muffs? They look alike &their description reads the same. Do they sound the same or close to it?
I am no expert on this, but today I was talking with the parts manager at my Harley dealer about exhausts. He told me that the Super Trapps are the same as the old style SE Performance Mufflers. Super Trapp made those mufflers for Harley. The new (current) SE Performance Mufflers are quieter than those old ones.
I have the 06 Screamn' Eagle (off road) Performance Touring Mufflers with billeted tips on my 97 Road King and asked a Supertrapp sales rep. the same question; he said that the only difference was the logo. Listening to the sound clip on the Supertrapp website they seem to have that same pop pop sound to me, which is like a set of jack hammers on the open road. I don't like the sound and plan on putting my Harley Touring mufflers back on till something better comes along.
the older 06 and later SE "off road" pipes were made by supertrapp.
Harley discontinued sellin them in late 06.
they (S.T.) ARE louder than todays SE pipe.
I have them,, perfect if you want a nice touring muffler,,,, not annoying!
John, the quieter of the Screamin' Eagle mufflers would be the 4" 2 piece slip ons part #64985-07a,these are just a tad louder than stock, the one piece slip ons part #80491-07 are a little louder at idle and have a nice Harley rumble and sound real good durring accel. I have done the loud pipes thing on my last 2 harleys and am now enjoying the tunes on my 08 Ultra Classic with a mellow Harley rumble.
