Indianapolis
I think I saw something on the news about that moving here, North west side of Indy, around Zionsville is what I thought I heard them say???
If your place of work is on the northside and you live on live on the southside your travel in the morning and at night is gonna be long, and here shortly they are gonna start major road construction on the NE side of 465, which is a main way from say Greenwood to the northside, gonna be lookin at about 5 years of construction
And it is gonna congest all the other alt routes to the northside...it will pretty much suck.If your bis is gonna be in Zionsville or area near, NW side...Brownsburg or, Plainfield is prolly where you would want to look into living, better travel time to and from work, both are building up but, still have a small town feel to them and still can find some nice houses with land out there, good access to 74 and 65 and 465. Just a thought...living on the southside ain't bad if you work more that way and it is only gonna add 30-40 minutes to your ride to TN living on the NW/west side.
or, 1 1/2 to 2 hours to your daily travel to and from work
the rest is about the same...cold and possible snow from the end of Oct to April usually get 8 to 14 good snows...warms up in May and gets humind through the summer.
Despite the weather, there is some excellent riding here, especially in southern Indiana, from Bloomington and points south.
Oh, and so you know, my company's medical drug benefit is managed by Medco.
Rent a place near work for the first 6-12 months to learn the city, and discover what part "fits" you best. (We lived in an area that did not "fit" us, and eventually we were miserable because of it). If the North side fits you and makes you happy, the extra time it will take for your trip home to TN will meannothing.
Finally, the weather in Indy is NEVER as bad as the local stations try to make it!!!!! I've never lived anywhere with more "Chicken Little" scare-the-viewer-over-nothing reporting than in Indy. The stations should be ashamed of themselves for that. Snow and ice happens a few times a winter, summers are seldom over 90 degress, and the humidity isvery livable. Coming from TN, you'll like the summers very well. Hope the move works for you.
mopar7, I sent you a PM.
I think you will find the weather about the same if not a little better then South Jersey. You will want to look for a home outside of Marion County. Johnson County is just south of Indianapolis.
Reading the article in the Indianapolis Star is says Boone county which is north of Indianapolis, not south. http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dl...NESS/312180002
Is this the same company and are they building something south also?
Check you PM also.
