Default Best wind protection - Kings or Glides

Stock, off the show room floor which bike 'type' has better wind protection (body protection, low buffeting)? Seems to me its the Glides since the fairings and windshields represent a bigger wind block. But, I think the Kings have less buffeting from what I've been reading on the boards.

Thx
Scott

I have really new 08 EGC with the adjustable air dampers under the fairling just like the Ultras. I have no air buffeting issues at all. I did have on my Suzuki C50 but a set of lowers on the forks solved the problem.

No way can a Road King have nearly the wind protection as a Glide. I have a RK and the factory windshield helps a bit on a cold day, but I think it's mostly there for looks

Depends. I had an Electric Glide, and put on a shortywindshield, plus lowers, plus the baffle. As compared to my Road King, which I have put 10,000 miles in the past six months, the RK has much more protection fromthe head buffeting with wind deflectors than I got from theEG, but your hands are more in the elements, and your feet are more exposted with the RK, but no wind buffeting down there. The Street Glide with a shorty will be the same as my EG... A Road Glide with a fixed fairing would offer the best, with a tallerwindshield, then the EG and SG with the tallwindshields.... or you can rent em and try em yourself....

SG with 12" shield, no buffeting problems at all. I'm 6' tall and sit on a sundowner seat.

As far as the Road Glide is concerned, it will offer better wind protection than the Road King. On the other hand if your were to consider an Electra Glide with lower fairings, or the Ultra Classic, you will have the best wind protection. You can also add lower fairings to the Road Glide.

Without question though, the Road King is a great bike.
