Default Broken Fender Struts

I have an 05' Roadking Custom with 48,000 miles. Twice now my fender struts and bottom support that goes from side to side have broken. Has anybody else out there had this problem? Also my rear header pipe has broken four times. The last time I replaced the exhaust with V&H dresser duals.

My neighbor has the same bike, and we just realized his left side is broken as well. 13,000 mi.
Maybe a factory defect that should be covered?

79000 on my 2003 Road King. I have replaced struts on both sides twice. Cracks right at where the piece bends out. No one can give me an answer. Harley Parts man says that is why we sell them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rear pipe on mine broke three times. I went to VnH Pro Pipel...

My left side also broke around 22,000 miles, I looked around and got a great deal on a set off eBay... so I replaced both of them just to be safe

I noticed when I removed the struts to change the rear fender on my '07 RKC that the tabs,(the part that breaks off), were not bent a full 90 degrees for proper alignment. When I went to reassemble everything, I could see the strain it put on the tabs as I tightened the bolts. I wound up bending the tabs so that all the bits and pieces lined up upon reassembly without the bolts having to pull everything into submission. Don't really know if this helped, but it made me feel better.
