I know this might not be the right place to post this but this is the place where I have been reading a lot. I thought I could post this here because I'm trading in my NT on a SG. My questions is; What do you think my tins are worth if I take them off the bike and sell them on ebay or???? I'm not too sure if I want to leave them on, trade it in and not worry about it OR put my stock black tins on and then sell the custom painted tins? What do you think?
I would put the stock tins back on and try selling the custom painted here in the classifieds or on e-bay (in that order). As far as value...I'd check e-bay and see what the tins are going for and compare yours. my two cents
i think you will do better trading the bike with the stock tins back on the bike. even if it is a custom paint job that appeals to the masses, the dealer more than likely punish you on the trade. paint jobs are like pipes, you may like them but most don't .. also the paint set on ebay would do better than the stock sheet metal on ebay. take pics on and off the bike . is the custom paint factory tins? if yes, there still will be doubters... especially the dealer.
my $.02
edit the pics are up. looks nice, but the dealer probably wont want to try and sell a purple bike.
Take them off and sell them. The dealer(if it is like the ones here) want give you anything for the custom tins, but they will sure list it on the sell ticket and mark the bike up
Also, in addition to the classified section on this forum, don't rule out craigs list... it is free, and usually you will find a local buyer... But, yes, you should take them off, and sell them seperate... the dealer isn't going to do you any favors on them.. also, I would put back on any, and all, stock parts you have for your NT... Again, sell them here, and you have some more money for the new bike... BTW, congrats on the new bike purchase... I hope you get a fair trade... Also, have you tried to sell the bike on your own??
