Default Towing with Alarm System

This summer, we’re going to tow our SG across the U.S. in an enclosed trailer behind our motorhome.

Question; what configuration should I leave the ignition switch in? In other words, do I leave the key/fob in the ignition switch or just somewhere in the trailer to alleviate the alarm going off or should I disable the alarm altogether?

Ideas??

You need to turn the alarm off while moving. Trust me you will kill the battery - Don't ask me how I know

With that year bike, don't you have the buttonless fob. I do. When ya walk away from the bike with the fob it turns alarm on. Then when ya walk up to it, it turns off. Just keep it near the bike and you should be fine.

Put the alarm in "Transport Mode". It's covered in the manual.

Yeah there is a seguence you can do with the ignition switch to put the alarm in maintenance mode so that it doesn't activate. I don't remember the details.

Transport mode disables the motion sensor portion. Starter and ignition are diabled. Shouldn't run your battery dead. The only thing powered is the key icon in the dash.

Put the bike in trasport mode. If you just leave the fob near the bike, it will be interrigating it every time the bike shakes and will deplete the battery sooner than it should.
