Default King Tourpack vs. Chopped Tourpack - Updated w/Price List

What are your impressions of the differences?

Passenger comfort on the chopped vs. the king?

High/heavy center weight on the king vs. the chopped?

It looks like the chopped TP would not accomodate the speaker pods, and that the king TPdoes not come pre-drilled for the speaker pods. Can either or both be modded to fit the HD pods?

I don't do a lot of long distance touring, but I like the idea of the TP, and the looks. Would I really regret, or miss the capacity, if I went with the chopped TP?

They can both be set up to be detachable, with the QD hardware, right?

Thanks!

(Sorry, it seems like the search function is not working tonight.)

Let me know guys. I'm thinking the chopped TP will look better on my bike, but I'm concerned about my wifes comfort and the ability to add the additional two speakers. It also costs more!?!?

Chopper Pak look better on the Roadie.... But I went with the King TourPak as it gave the wife more support & more Room to pack...

I went for the King TP myself because I only use it when I am touring and I figured functionality was better than looks (but I did add the matching spoiler for a nice touch). I opted for the detachable hardware so I can take it on and off in seconds. It can hold quite a bit, which is good and bad. You end up being the pack mule on long hauls for the bar hoppers.

MV: Per HD's catalog and website descriptions, the chopped TP's bottom is 3" shorter/chopped than the King TP--no way do speaker pods fit on the chopped--as you can see by looking at pods mounted on the King TPs--try to imagine 3" less height to accommodate the pods. The only King TP that comes pre-drilled for the speaker pods is the "Road Glide Ultra King TP" again, based on the catalog and website descriptions.

The King Tour Pak is a much better deal...thew whole reason is storage which it does well and the support for your passenger is much improved over the chopped tour pack...you will be happier with the King

Since tour paks are for touring, go with biggest capacity. Your gonna take it of when not touring anyway.

I agree with the others in going with the King Tour Pak. Sounds like you'd only use it when touring and you'll like that extra storage in the larger one.
