For those of you that might trailer your bike on ocassion, what tie-downs have you used and like?
I just purchased one of those aerodynamic trailer jobs and really don't know what might be best.
Knowing that we can't attach to the bars, where do we attach them to so its safe and secure?
DONT go cheap on straps!!!!! You get what you pay for!!!! Alot of threads on tieing down your bike...Be Safe Happy Trails!!! JAKESTER.TIM..[sm=trust_me.gif]
I friend of mine bought the harley brand tiedowns, there very nice but salty in price, But like jakester said, dont go cheap on straps. I used a set of cheap ones last year going to North carolina, We stopped 40 mile down the road And bought new ones cause the ones I used let my bike move to much
Ancra for standard tie down straps. Any good quality ratchet strap, but be careful with ratchet straps! You don't realize how much pressure you can apply with the ratchet, & can easily break handlebars, bolts, etc. Use ratchet straps only on frame points!
Power Tyes here too....great stuff, and the price isn't bad considering that you're securing $20K+ flying down the road at highway speed. I think that warrants a hundred bucks or so.
Some of you guys are saying that straping the bike down with ratchet straps from the handlebars is hard on them? So what is a better way to strap the front end down then?
